An easy one if you have seen a maple tree seeds autogyroing down.

Definitely an easy word for maple tree lovers.

But it becomes a little more complicated once you study the samaras. Each species of maple has a distinctively different type of samara. If you train your eye--I haven't--you can identify the species of maple just by looking at the samaras on the ground. I have to get out my tree book.

Some are small; some have bulges; some have wings that seemingly droop down; others have wings that are fully spread out as though gliding. And they come in different colors. It's all very interesting.
