I have hijacked words from tsuwm's site many times. But never one so wrongly called
worthless.His "wwftd" that I just saw is "sciolist" = someone with superficial knowledge
or learning. A beautiful putdown for the pretentious frauds we have all met.

since you chose that particular header, I have to rush to my own defense and quote this week's disclaimer:

Nearly every week I receive via e-mail one or two
jeremiads complaining that a word(s) I've featured
is not worthless at all. So this week I'm going
to endeavor to present some words which everyone
should be able to incorporate into everyday use.


on Tuesday, I myself managed to use psephologist twice in normal(?) conversation.
