OP I had forgotten that Echo was a nymph who incurred anger of Hera, who decreed that
she would never again be able to speak, except to repeat someone else's words.
And she had hopeless infatuation with Narcissus, who is memorialized in "narcissism
because he fell in love with his own reflection, fell in and drowned.
