I'd heard that cuckoos put their eggs into another bird's nest so that the other bird could do all the parenting. But I hadn't heard that the baby cuckoo--before opening its eyes--pushes the competing eggs out of the nest, just like Humpty Dumpty! This is animal behavior worth knowing about. If you see a cuckoo putting its egg into a nest: Do NOT remain underneath that nest!!! You will end up with egg in your face!
