...of no import whatsoever
are there any users of atomica reading this? I don't currently have the client installed, but I am told that the wwftd list is now a part of the atomica data base. try one or three of these if you would:

...of no import whatever. - tsuwm But if it worthless, then by default it becomes important to you, and what is important to you is important to me, which leads to my question..."Have you ever had a worthless word banished from your list because it received too much currency?" And just from a point of curiosity, "Have you ever banished a worthless girlfriend for reasons similar if not the same?" - Thank you, milum PS: How many words did Atomica pick up (do you reckon) from their addition of your list?

How can a girl have too much currency - especially if it's in old and untraceable notes? It's the converse of incompatibility - nothing wrong with it so long as he's got income and she's pattable.

>How many words did Atomica pick up (do you reckon) from their addition of your list?
just for the heck of it (ack'ing that this came from milum) I'll treat this as a semi-serious query, since it's a semi-valid question. the main-stream atomica dictionary is the AHD (70,000+ words, the same edition that Bartleby has online). the current wwftd word list is ~ 2213 words, and let's say that 2 out of 3 (conservatively) are not in AHD, which would add about 1500 words or 2%.
::shrugs:: hey, they asked for it.

It is a subject you have to approach from the right angle, Auntie.
Though it could be I'm a bit of a square.

Does any one but me remember the late 1960's cartoon (it won an Academy Award) The Line and the Dot?
It was about an irresolute dot, who was loved by a Line? but the irresolute dot, fickle little thing, abandons the Line in favor of a Squiggle. She felt the line was too straight, to singluar, too plain. Stung by the Dots harsh words, the Line exams himself, and realizes, the Dot has spoken the truth. But Love is powerful, and the Line resolves to improve. The Line, and true love, win in the end.. It is a wonderful cartoon.
The cartoon had a morale, "To the Vector goes the Spoils" [/hite]

Anna, now look, see what you started? <grin> tsuwm the vector--I love it! Dragging this thread back to language, I found a link on the etymology of geometry terms. Here's a sample: trigonometry -- trigon + the Greek word for measure. Geo-metry is the measure of Gaia (Geo), the Earth. http://ancienthistory.about.com/library/weekly/aa030601a.htm

Annas : if you two don't stop I shall put a hexagon both your houses.Hey! Watch out there AnnaS .. there is a witch from Pendle who might get upset at any usurpation of her prerogatives. And I must warn that what you send may turn back upon you! So be careful about the plane upon which you are operating !
