thank you, consuelo! Actually, I am having a rather "smashing" time to do with my car - not in the good way but not in the worst way, either (ie, not literally smashing...). We have to renew our licence plate stickers on our birthdays. My renewal is being held up because some officious moron at City Hall issued me with a parking ticket, back in September, although he had no right to do so (he was with the transit authority, who may only ticket cars parked at bus stops, and I was nowhere near one, so he had to make up a charge - "blocking traffic," which I wasn't). It's a long story, but the ticket was supposed to have been cancelled loooong ago. The fact that it wasn't is now causing me considerable grief. I am going to start taking hostages.
