I play a PC game where one assumes the identity of a character and goes around the world stomping out evil, acquiring new items, and gaining experience. In this particular world my character is a "Bard" which means that he sings songs that are beneficial to him and his friends and detrimental to his enemies. He also hacks at the baddies with his two swords (because one is never enough.)
Now, the question. Way back when I created my character I named him Malische. I have no idea where I came up with that, so don't ask :) Now Malische has advanced to the level where I get to choose a surname for him. It should sound good and it can be humorus or intimidating. Can you all give suggestions? I would love something musical or storyish (read: Bardic) but that is not a requirement. The only real rules are that the name cannot reference any real world people/places/things and cannot already be taken by someone else.
Here are a couple to get you started:
Malische Malefic Malische Lachrymose Malische Tunebender
Thanks for your help!

Personally, to help with this, I would like to know the meaning or derivation of Malische. Can you give us a little to go on?

OK. Time to brainstorm.
Malishe Marcato Malishe Mysterioso Malishe Piccolo Malishe Furioso Malishe Celeste (don't ask me why) Malishe Moderato Malishe Concertino Malishe Allegretto Malishe Al Fine (I really like this one best.)
I can come up with a whole lot more, but this is a start to get others thinking.
Beat regards, WW

JW - can you tell me how you pronounce Malishe. I think that may influence what people will come up with.
I read it as Mal (al like in Allen) ish as in fish BUT I realize some people might say it as Mal - eesh
Malefic sounds too much like the French maléfique which means evil. If you are stomping out evil I wouldn't think you'd want to call yourself that.

Malische Mellifluoso, howzabout. After all, he's a Bard, yes? Let us go in peace to love and serve the board.

Thanks all for the help- no decision yet made.
Mal as in California ische as in Fish
It has no derivation. Just a couple of syllables thrown together.
Keep them coming- something will strike me like lightning soon enough.

Love it!! Especially since the rhyme is hidden. You've got that "lish" in Malische rhyming with the translation of fish embedded.
And it also looks like a musical term. In fact, when I first read it I wondered what strange musical term might it be. There are so many abstreuse musical terms! I'll list a few that probably most folk don't know even though pezcyclando isn't among them:
afflito
affannoso
alla caccia
alterreza
...and those are just some I've marked from the "A" section of the music dictionary.
I'll bet if some composer spotted pezcyclando, there could follow a composition in which the musical directive would be pezcyclando--and then the musicians would have to talk about what they needed to do to produce music that conveyed the feeling of a fish on a bike.
Again, love Malische Pezcyclando!

Ok- I liked Pezcyclando but I took it in the noun form instead of the verb. I don't know if it makes any sense, but making sense wasn't part of the requirements. It sounds cool and has internal rhyme (in both languages.) Thanks for your help everybody! Fish, you can pick up your prize from me later. Check out Malische and his new surname at (large image): http://makeashorterlink.com/?J2F114F11

I liked Pezcyclando but I took it in the noun form instead of the verbHonoured, JW - although of course, consuelo and WW should take most/all of the credit. Then again, what's the prize? I think it is a noun, already: "cycling fish" in effect.

I just tried to bring up the page you posted, Josie, but it wouldn't go through. The short link page came up, but then the full link took me to the page that tells you the page isn't available. What goes?

my check for Pezcyclando©Oops, does this mean that I should be paying royalties for all uses of the term, consuelo? Damn, and I wanted to mention it on my website too Speaking of which, I could probably stash your Malische image on my site, JW. Let me know by PM, and we'll sort it out. Mind you, it'll probably take another six months before I get around to applying the updates...
