I host Young German Professionals for one year, every other year. As soon as I have their e-mail address they are given a gift subscription to AWAD. They all have loved this as it has broadened their grasp of the English language. It also keeps their grammer interesting. They say grammer books are boring.

Welcome to you, Nancy! I've been to your neck of the woods--quite beautiful.
Kudos for your interest--in everything.

Hi nancycate, although I am afraid I am clueless for your actual question, I have included a German link in the RS Thomas string under Miscellany, in case any of your friends are interested. I know poetry can be quite daunting to some people, even when it's supposed to be in our mothertongue let alone a foreign language - but it can be a unique sidelight on a language and therefore all the more rewarding. If I only get 2 people in the world to look up RS Thomas, I will feel I've spread a little goodness today!

May I call for two minutes silence for the passing, yesterday, of this truly great poet
