For JazzO: Did you know that the Romans in Britain had a heating system found by archaeologists, far superior to anything in Britain until comparatively recently. They had "hypocausts" ducted heat beneath tile floors. I read it in Scientific American so long ago I forget whether it was hot air or hot water. Shame the idea got lost.
