Thanks to Sparteye! (this threads a "hit"!)
(for newcomers, we found out a long while ago that, for the threaded viewers, when a thread gets to 99 posts it makes it easier for viewing if we start a continuation. And flat viewers don't have to open a second page either.)

Ha ha! I beat ya W'ON, but I'll be gracious...

Wrong or right be mine tonight
Harsh world be damned we'll make a stand
Love can bind but mine is blind
Others stray, but I won't walk away

I won't walk away - Jewell

Got'cha covered, Connie!

My analyst told me
That I was right out of my head
He said I'd need treatment
But I'm not that easily led
He said I was the type
That was most inclined
When out of his sight
To be out of my mind
Twisted -written by Ross & Grey, performed by Joni Mitchell

Got to get you out of my mind but I can't escape from the feeling
As I try to leave the memory behind without you what's left to believe in

Out of my mind - Duran Duran

Post edit: hint guys & gals, if we leave the "Game Link the Lyric" thing out of the title, it will make it a lot more palatable to the threaded viewers!

It's knowing that your door is always open and your path is free to walk
That makes me tend to keep my sleeping bag rolled up and stashed behind your couch
And it's knowing I'm not shackled by forgotten words and bonds, and the ink stains that have dried up on some line,
That keeps you in the backroads by the rivers of my memory,
that keeps you ever Gentle On My Mind

Gentle On My Mind, John Hartford (RIP '01...loved that guy!)

Breaking up is never easy, I know but I have to go
(I have to go this time
I have to go, this time I know)
Knowing me, knowing you
It's the best I can do

Victim of love, I see a broken heart
I could be wrong, but I'm not
Victim of love, we're not so far apart
Show me, what kind of love have you got?

Ah, how pleasant 'tis to love,
Every moment does improve;
Joys surprising now I meet,
Nothing's like love, so charming, sweet.

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends
So oh lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz

boronia - the comment was not on the merits of the song, in fact, I quite like the song, but on your attribution of the artist. Did Helen Reddy really do a version of Mercedes Benz? Eh, probably. But the thought of it makes me giggle. And I'll bet 999 people out of 1000 would first think of the Janis Joplin version.

Time is on my side, yes it is,
Time is on my side, yes it is,
Now you'd always say
That you wanna be free
But you'll come runnin' back (oh baby)
You'll come runnin' back
You'll come runnin' back to meee-eee-eee

"What time is it?" said the judge
to Joey when they met.
"Five to ten," said Joey.
The judge said, "That's exactly what you get."

There is a season turn turn turn,

But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone.

Kiss me with your mouth
Your love is sweeter than wine
But wine is all I have
Will your love ever be mine?

I dream of your first kiss, and then
I feel upon my lips again
A taste of honey
Tasting much sweeter than wine
I will return, yes I will return
I'll come back for the honey and you

Oh-oh it's so hot outside and the air is so sweet
And when the pressure drop is heavy I don't want to hear you speak
You know most killing is committed at ninety degrees
When it's too hot to breathe and it's too hot to think.

Now, ladies, you must take warning,
From this time now and on.
Never speak harsh words to your true loving husband.
He may leave you and never return.

They say that time brings about a change
And I know, Darling, that is no lie.
There's a time for everything,
Now it's time to say Good-bye.

Now my heart is achin', and whiskey's all it's takin',
just to drive these blues away
Now my heart is achin', and whiskey's all it's takin',
just to drive these blues away
And I stay drunk each and every worried day

Like a man done throwed that rock down into de sea
Got dem Saint Louis Blues I'm as blue as ah can be.

Louis Armstrong recorded this song in New York, January 14, 1925
with blues singer Bessie Smith on her classic recording.

I ain't ever loved it this-a way before
I ain't ever loved it this-a way before
And I hope the Lord that I won't love it any more

I've got so now that I can't control my mind
I've got so now that I can't control my mind
I go to bed blue and I get up cryin'

Under the Arctic fire
Over the seas of silence
Hauling on frozen ropes
For all my days remaining
But would north be true?

All colours bleed to red
Asleep on the ocean's bed
Drifting in empty seas
For all my days remaining

But would north be true?
Why should I?
Why should I cry for you?

Sting - Soul Cages (1990)

Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence. ...

I went to my brother to ask for a loan
'cause I was busted.
the food that we planted last summer was gone,
and I was busted.

My brother said "Ray, there ain't a thing I can do,
me and my wife are both down with the flu,
and I was just thinking 'bout calling on you,
because I'm busted."

Burn your skin, we've just begun

When I'm a walking, I strut my stuff, then I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite, I just might, stop to check you out

Let me go on, like a blister in the sun

I'm walking, yes indeed I'm talking
For you and me and I'm hoping
That you'll come back to me

I'm lonely as I can be
And I've waited for your company
And I'm hoping that you'll come back to me

I'm Walking
