The nickname of the sports teams of Notre Dame de Namur University (formerly, College of Notre Dame) is the Argonauts. Notre Dame college was founded in 1851 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in San Jose and moved to Belmont, California, in 1923. It has a current enrollment of 1,685.
