some kind o' Scandinavian-style slash through 'em

Ah the Good Old Days. We had TTY-35(?)s that had slashed Ohs and/or slashed zeroes on the keyboard, slashed Ohs and/or slashed zeroes on the type cylinder and no strictly observed convention as to which was which including no convention by which the keyboard and type cylinder on a given machine matched. Then you get a student wave a printout in front of you asking what was wrong with this program and you say, "That Oh should be a zero." Talk about getting a reputation for omniscience.
