WARNING: Word-related thread!Today's Peanuts comic strip uses the word "shute", which I'd never heard of, in a context where I'd have expected "chute".
Shute does not appear in bartleby.com, but does appear in dictionary.com.
Is this a british usage? Is it in common use generally, or common use in particular phrases?
