I've posed a problem for myself in naming our impending gathering "Wordapalooza!" because of the "!". When ending a sentence with "Wordapalooza!," I'm inclined to still add punctuation, since the exclamation mark isn't really the punctuation for the sentence. But, does "Wordapazlooza!." look weird? Or is it weirder to you without a final punctuation mark?

Can you think of an instance in which there'd be three marks in succession, other than the informal "!?!?!?"?
How about that one - do quote marks count?

What, there's an exclamation point after Wordapalooza? I had never really noticed you wrote it that way to be honest. Good thing you mentioned it cause it wouldn't have been on the Yearbook cover.

Tell me though, I was taught that you only put an exclamation point after an interjection to show strong emotion or an exclamation.

I agree Sparteye, the exclamation mark makes "Wordapazlooza!" look bad. The way the Goodnerds designed the standard font on computer faces is not conducive to good visualization of an exclamation mark.
Besides, an exclamation mark serves as a symbol to denote emotion, and not as a hysterical symbol to announce a sentence end. And further, the average eye does a double take to make sure that the "!" is not an "l".
Let's be honest, the word "Wordapazlooza" isn't that pretty anyway. I tried putting a space between "Wordapazlooza" and the exclamation mark, but that looks pretty stupid too.

Glad I could help,
Milum!

Congrats Milum! Not only did you make member, but you got the 15,000th post here in Miscellany!

So, In answer to a question you asked me in a PM, hope you don't mind me sharing this with all, I will tell you all about the secret handshake for Members. I have to do it in white though, cause it's a secret. Here's the truth! The secret handshake, there's actually three of them. Number one, looks remarkably like a fist. For number two, hold your hand out, palm down, fingers together. On number three, you make a peace sign, then tilt your hand out away from your body. Now, when you meet another member, say "rock, paper, scissors" and give them one of the handshakes!

I know, but it's so many letters to type, then "To exclaim or not to exclaim". Wapaloo is more Seusish. I like it. That way Milum isn't tempted to add an extra z.[running and ducking from zinging zeez]
Anaegma shrugged I know, but it's so many letters to type, then "To exclaim or not to exclaim". Wapaloo [Wapato] is more Seusish. [seven] I like it. That way Milum [Milwaukee] isn't tempted to add an extra z. [Zachary] And then ignored the bracketed comment entirely.

Ha ha, Consuelo, the jokes on you, there are two "Wordapazloozas". One is in Michigan and (you silly thing) the one with the extra "Z" is in New Zealand. Oh? You weren't invited? Oh I see, well Darn, you just forget what I said, sometimes I get confused.

Private to Angel...
white Hey Angel, I've printed this message in white because someone is leaking word about our Wordapazlooza down under for Members with a big "M" only. Next thing you know some of the old, Old Hands and even the Poo-Bahs will want to attend. My meeting with the other Member members went well. Most have learned the secret handshake and can recite without much stumbling, the Member Pledge. We voted to forgo accommodations at the Waipuna International and stay at Max Quordlepleen's house instead because he has more space. I, myself, plan to donate the $15,000 I won for being the 15,000th poster on Miscellany to our group to use as travel incidentals. See you in June. -Chairperson Milo. white
