02-02-02 is fine if you are writing as its done in the US military. The first 0 before single numbers keeping naughty ones from changing the number ... and BTW the military does dates as in Europe day/month/year So 02-02-02 is second of February 2002. In the Massachusetts lottery on New Year the winning daily number was 2002 ... no kidding! So many winners they each ended up with about $275.
