Copying without giving credit is naughty, but becomes plagiarism only if you try to make money from it, or use it to build up your reputation.

I heard that, if one person copies someone's work it's plagiarism. If many people copy it, it's research!

What a lovely irony, Max! (Speaking of irony--that started to come out 'lowly' irony.) That Cloze procedure is interesting, and seems valid as well.
