a while back, on one of the threads, i mentioned
ramps, a old (american i thought, but looks like it's English) word for a wild garlic.
below is from Bartleby's.. I added the red to the old english root word....
but my Websters New American Dictionary, takes the word back further, to *krem-
when i searched Bartleby's, for krem, i was led to ramson.. another onion/garlic like plant, which goes back to the same Old English, and suggest l see
krem in Appendix 1-- only there is no link, and nothing that quite matches, or seems to match among the kr words... in appendix 1.
so is there a IE root krem? and what does it mean? and are there other words that season our language from this word?
