I think I said pretty much the same thing.
You were pretty much accurate but didn't make the further detail that somewhat addresses what dr. bill perceived as potential unfairness.
Laches has a dferent scope, and a different effect, than a statute of limitations. As to scope: The test for whether "laches" applies is less specific than the cut-and-dried formula of a statue of limitations. BUT the effect of any laches is more limited: if a claimant was so dilatory as to be barred by laches he is barred only from seeking equitable relief, such as an injunction. He may still seek monetary damages for whatever injury he claims.
