re: WO'N states, "one who eats fungi" (as mushrooms) is mycophagist, a label with which I gladly garnish myself!
I don't much each mushrooms. they were never on the menu when i was a child, since in ireland, mushrooms are considered "fairy food" and to harvest them would rob the fairy's of their sustenence. mushrooms were only eaten in times of total famine.
as an adult, i have come to eat mushrooms, especially ones in oriental cooking.. but not to make this a food thread..
are there any others who have superstitions about mushrooms?
like what you can and can not do inside a fairy circle? i am presuming we all know about, even if we haven't seen a fairy circle. i had one in my yard when my kids were young, but it has died out now.
