The Galsworthy series about "the Pallisers" after I'd seen the PBS series, years ago. Found I had to slow down my reading to get into the rhythm of the prose ... like a Victorian who had no radio or TV or recordings to distract during the long evening hours.
tsuwm, I've read The Seven Pilars of Wisdom and I think you'll find it a good read and informative. Put it on the top of the pile and have at it old chum!
