I wonder whether there is any connectin between the derivation of gigging frogs and musicians' gigs?
gig, n. [six unique words]
1. something that whirls
2. a two-wheeled carriage (transferral from 1?)
3. a squeaking noise
4. a kind of fish spear (shortened from fizgig)
5. a hole in the ground for drying flax
6. an engagement for a musician
(and there are seven(7) verb entries)
