For what it's worth --
Any New Yorkers online out there?
It strikes me that today is Wednesday, October tenth. If your associations are loose enough, this day and date are not unrelated: October tenth is 10/10, which can be read 1010, which is the frequency of WINS Radio, so it's only a mild stretch to make today be WINSDAY, October 10. QED.
Can you think of other station call letters around the country that might be played with analogously?
(Not to be confused with the thought process of the three slightly deaf train riders in Britian...as they pulled into a station, one looked out the window and asked "Is this Wembley?" and the second replied "No, it's Thursday," and the third said "So am I; let's all have some tea!")

Louisville's WHAS would make it Whasday. Not too close, but.

According to the old nursery rhyme Whasday was Monday, wasn't it?

I like it, but it should have been "Mnoday," as I recall...

Too bad that WIND, a long-time Chicgo radio station, recently went defunct. Otherwise I'd say WINDSDAY.
