I recalled those chem classes again - "Radical" being some sort of chemical entity (No - not the weirdos in the lab coats with the long hair) - to whit:
"A group of atoms behaving like a single atom and passing unchanged unchanged from one compound to another - now usually confined to electrically neutral entities as distinguished from charged ions" (Chambers 20th C)
So what's a free radical?
