I wqs in BBC, and clicked on header "Routes of English" I'll try again. While browsing around, I found a very extensive list of unusual words. Very short definitions, no etymology (sob,sob).
http://phrontistery.50megs.com/p.html URL as given brings up words starting with "p". Only way I could get other letters was by changing the "p" at end of URL to "a" or whatever. Much, much longer than wwftd.
P.S. I went back, and discovered that there is no text, only spoken presentation, which I can hear butcannot comprehend.
