nah, he was vegetarian, loved bunnies, and cuddled everyone he met. He just got a bad press from the capitalist running dogs But is the ~wing terminology valid for anything prior to the French revolution?

And would you condemn a movie about the late Roman Empire for having its characters speak English?

In the movie they did.
The movie, of course, *should have been silent and B&W, because the Late Romans didn't have colo(u)r film or audio film technology, but it wasn't.

To back-track to Faldage's (attrib.?) remark GK might have been a front man for an anarcho-syndicalist... the term is an oxymoron.

because the Late Romans didn't have colo(u)r film...Hey, maybe we gotta variant on the tree in the forest - was the Christians' blood black&white when it fell in the amphitheatre? And IP, I think you'll find the Rulebook of the International Anarchists' Congress covers that (and all other points) at some length...

the term is an oxymoron.
Even an anarcho-syndicalist collective needs a spokesman every once in a while.

Even an anarcho-syndicalist collective needs a spokesman every once in a while.Well, geez, thanks Fald-er-iago! But wouldn't be impossible for them to select one? That would imply that the syndics would trust someone to be the spokesman and that the anarchists could agree on anything, like whether they needed a spokesman at all, and what the position s/he supported would be! I'm s-o-o-o-o confused! BTW, I do rather like your proliferation of my misspelling of Genghiz Khan's name. But then, I guess they simply knocked off anyone who misspelled it back then! Is your head feeling secure on your shoulders, hmmm?

FYI, there is an aritcle in todays New York Times about GK's great wall. While visible from satellite, it is difficult to find on ground. But there are some locals who can show it to you, and there is a picture of one as he does.

How can you misspell something that was probably never spelled in the first place and if it was, wasn't spelled with anything even vaguely resembling our alphabet?
I have seen about three other standard misspellings of it.

Reminds me of an American fellow who was wandering through the Kasbah when a beautiful Algerian lady runs into him. Breathlessly, she asked, "Please, please, you must help me. Which way is the Khan?"
"Gosh, ma'am," stuttered the guy, "I don't know and I kinda need to go too!"

Funny ... I thought it spent all its time tied up to the wharf at Loo'vull!Only on Mondays. The rest of the time it plies up and back from Six-mile Island or Twelve-mile Island, carillon ringing merrily for all to hear.
