Since *none of us have the benefit of seeing each other (eye-to-eye) as we speak, I would say that "reading something into statements" would be the same as assuming...

... I assume B96 was, as (CapK?) suggested in a different thread, trying to create humor in an otherwise *tense atmosphere... and playing with words at the same time... and let us not forget those little emoticons that speak the unutterable...

However, B96 can speak for herself... although we haven't heard a lot of that... lately .
