there is a traditional american verse, which has several varients,
One dark morning, in the middle of the night
two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back, they faced each other,
drew their swords and shot each other,
a deaf policeman heard the noise,
and came to the rescue of the two dead boys
if you don't believe my story, ask the blindman,
he saw it all!
for jump rope, there is always
miss mary mack, mack, mack
all dressed in black, black, black
with silver buttons all down her back, back, back
which i find, i can't remember the rest of.
knocking round my head are lots bits and pieces of many street songs, some of which are american varients of Childs Ballard..
