Bill, I'm not finding anything either, but upon googling I have the sense that it my be related to the "heart scarabs" used in the mummification of ancient egyptian royalty. After the weekend, I'll try to check it out with eqyptologists at the University of Chicago, which is noted in that field.
Meanwhile, Bill, take all look at heart scarabs under google, and let me know whether this seems promising to you.
