Epenthesis: to insert a sound.......Forgive me, but this reminds me of a medical school joke. In a urology lecture, discussing the problem of urethral stricture, the lecturer said....." Then it becomes necessary to pass a sound up the urethra"... The guy beside me whispered: "Is this old bastard trying to kid us?" I had a hilarious mental image of the lecturer with his lips to the urinary meatus going "tweeeeeee"
