"nuptuals" ought not end that way
Wow! A clean double entendre. Good work, Dr. Bill!

So, would someone who counselled me, after I had had a bad dream, be a "traümertologist?"

Hey! Is Teutonic a double-entendre for two shots of German seltzer????? Dearest Rubrick, you probably already know this, but just in case: when Dubya's dau. Jenna was charged with underage drinking, the press called her Jenna Tonic.

Of course "nuptuals" ought not end that way. Maybe during the " ruptuals".No wonder I so often confuse "marital" with "martial," and "united" with "untied."

There are plenty of examples of things which have a name put to them and after the passage of time and changes in circumstances the name no longer describes the thing accurately, but the name doesn't change. That depends: Some cities e.g. in Italy have post-communist mayors, others have communist ex-mayors. When I want to tell friends a story from my married past, I never know whether to use "my ex-wife" or "my wife". At the time, she clearly was the latter...

I suppose you could say, "My wife at the time", or, "my wife, who's my ex- at the moment".

How about "my currently ex-, formerly current wife"?
