 I never know whether to use "my ex-wife" or "my wife". At the time, she clearly was the latter...
Dearest, if you say, "my wife", that carries the implication that that is the current state of the lady in question. I suppose you could say, "My wife at the time", or, "my wife, who's my ex- at the moment".
