Max trumpets "Elephants don't have hooves." True, but:

Hoof's to know?! Some animals which have no hooves, or even feet, are related to ungulates because they all arose from a common ancestor. Among the more famous relatives are elephants (Proboscidea), manatees and dugongs (Sirenia) and whales and dolphins (Cetacea). They are also known as subungulates.

More on whales as ungulates:

It confirms genetic research placing whales' origin within the ungulate (hoofed animal) group.
