Now that I have the attention of most of the men on this board ....
I was reading a Dr Seuss story to one of my sons this weekend, and I was explicably reminded of AWAD:
TOO MANY DAVES
Did I ever tell you that Mrs. McCave Had twenty-three sons and she named them all Dave?
Well, she did. And that wasn't a smart thing to do. You see, when she wants one and calls out, "Yoo-Hoo! Come into the house, Dave!" she doesn't get ONE. All twenty-three Daves of hers come on the run!
This makes things quite difficult at the McCaves' As you can imagine, with so many Daves. And often she wishes that, when they were born, She had named one of them Bodkin Van Horn And one of them Hoos-Foos. And one of them Snimm. And one of them Hot-Shot. And one Sunny Jim. And one of them Shadrack. And one of them Blinkey. And one of them Stuffy. And one of them Stinkey. Another one Putt-Putt. Another one Moon Face. Another one Marvin O'Gravel Balloon Face. And one of them Ziggy. And one Soggy Muff. One Buffalo Bill. And one Biffalo Buff. And one of them Sneepy. And one Weepy Weed. And one Paris Garters. And one Harris Tweed. And one of them Sir Michael Carmichael Zutt And one of them Oliver Boliver Butt And one of them Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate... But she didn't do it. And now it's too late.

George Forman (the US (World?) heavy weight boxing champ) has named all six of his children-- including his daughter(s) George. I am not sure what they are called at home-- and how its handled legally? is the first child "Junior" and then the third, fourht, etc?
I have some cousins with all the family (6 children) with names starting with J. John, James, Joseph, Jeannine, Jody and Jean Marie.. but I think George Forman's family is a one of a kind-except for Mrs. McCave.

has named all six of his children-- Georgewhich reminds me of the story of the social worker calling on the single mother to check on her new born. "And what is he called?" "George, just like my other 5" "Doesn't that get awkward calling them in, for example?" "No, when I want a chore done or give a treat, I just call George, and give it to the first to arrive." "And what if you need a particular George?" "Then I just call them by their surnames, they're all different!" Rod

Two! But I'll be happy to be known as Sir Michael Carmichael Zutt if it makes things easier for everyone.

I demand a recount! OK, I know we have Faldage and Flatlander and CapKiwi and Whitman O'Neill.... there are more who don't come to mind .... come out from the cracks and be counted. And then we can get someone statistically-minded to do an analysis on the preponderances of Davids here. Surely there must be more to it than the popularity of David as a Judeo-Christian name?

If we were all born in the period 48-56, it would make sense. David was the most popular boy's name worldwide during that period (on average, of course!).
The idiot also known as Capfka ...

>>most popular boy's name worldwide >Not Muhammed? I think you'll find M ohammed more common A quick Google brings up 7,390,000 entries for Dave, but a mere 30,000 for David. Chris yielded 9,910,000 , and James a staggering 20,500,000!!

Well, Chris has been among the top 6 most common names (at least in the US) since the 70s. We have a few Chris's here as well, Hyla, myself, and I'm guessing you due to the smiley face.
