An acquaintance of mine recently made reference to "the hot box" while relating the story of a local man's arrest and subsequent imprisonment. "The hot box" was her unique way of referring to the jail in which the fellow had been detained. What are some other colorful (and not so colorful) terms/phrases that people use in this regard?
