You've now done something that probably 99.44% of LA residents have never ever done. Most of them have probably never even thought it was possible.

You must be exaggerating, at least a little bit. LA has a fairly extensive public transport system, and it's heavily used. Also we found that people were very friendly and helpful when we got confused about which bus or train to catch. Kudos to LA - I never thought I'd leave it having liked being there!
