Some of you may remember the song that went

Jeepers, creepers, where'd you get those peepers?
Jeepers, creepers, where'd you get those eyes?

I've heard eyes described as peepers, windows to the soul and mooners.

Are you aware of any other? What about that rhyming slang, is there one applicable to eyes?

"limpid pools," in crooners' views

Thesaurus gives "orbs" "lamps" (which I would never use)
I was surprised that there were so few.

ooof, somewhat less romantic that limpid pools I would say. Can`t imagine they used that when trying to woo a lady.

<<Can`t imagine they used that when trying to woo a lady.>>

But useful for a wooed what's coy:

"Do you like mince pies?" is so much nicer than "Tell me more about my eyes," think?

Not being a dice gambler I would only imagine "snake eyes" being an unfortunate roll...

I tried using the term "leeks" - but I believe it was the onslaught of "shades" that won!

I've always rather liked the Victorian-era term "glims". Every so often I use the word in a context where "eyes" would normally be used and, believe it or not, no one has ever asked me what it means. So, either they understand perfectly - or don't want to appear ignorant.
