After what seems months of searching, I've finally found my copy of what was called "a clever but unrepeatable hoax". The poems were written by [Tasmanian poet Gwen Harwood under the pseudonym] Walter Lehmann. In the interests of space, I've only used the first word of each line. Eloisa to Abelard Solace … on … loss … Our … no … gaps … but … Unveiled … Lost … Lucis … entreats … to … I … No … Abelard to Eloisa Far … unlatched … carry … kinetic … All … loose … Louder … elements … Deny … into … Tell … out … Recall … summon … My guess is that she'd probably received too many rejection slips! Incidentally, the search function would only gave me posts for 2001, not 2000. Anyone else had the same problem? Thank you for posting that. I discovered something about Search just a day or two ago, embarrassing though it is to admit. If there is more than one page of search results, there are--tah dah-ah--arrow keys to change the pages, just like the ones we change threads with. But they're only at the top, not the bottom. Did you try that? I just Searched for 'slang', since I knew it was used last year, and it did let me go back before 01-01-01. (Hey, I didn't think I'd get to write that any more.)
