OP Is there any significance to the fact that English and German seem to have almost all their interrogatives start with "w", while Romance languages like French and Spanish, mostly have "qu" interrogatives? Am I correct in guessing that the "qu" comes from Latin? And if so, does it strike anybody else as ironic that all those "w" interrogatives in English are "qu"estions?
