I guess the Control-B shortcut doesn't work here. It does in Word and many other programs. Here you have to click the B button or else type {b} [but with square-brackets rather than these curly-brackets] before whatever you want to bold and "[/b]", (see? square brackets] after you highlight whatever-you-want-to-bold to select it for Bold-ing.

ADDRESSER, of course.
The [open-squarebracket[letterbee]close-squarebracket]selectedtext[open-squarebracket[/letterbee]close-squarebracket] method will avoid all need for control keys and even buttons. But it's cumbersome, and several keystrokes longer, each time, and fairly quickly gets tiresome.
