Hi Wordsmithers,

Just wondering if it's okay to say the following:

"Ethnicity of participants were diverse"

Sounds weird to me but there seem to be many examples online.

Use "articles" they help.

The ethnicity of the participants was diverse.

Thanks for the confirmation. I was pretty sure there was a problem with subject/verb agreement. Just checking.

But in most countries where most of the people have no ethnicity issue.And they also provide equal opportunity to its employee and there is no discriminating there.Like UAE and other Arab countries.And there are also no more legal issues there.
