http://www2.lib.uct.ac.za/mss/bccd/On the above data base, my great-grandmother's cause of death is given as "maemia" - I cannot find out what it means by Googling. A fellow genealogist's ancestor died of "paedotrophia" - and she cannot find out what that is, either. Is it possible that the British concentration camp authorities wrote down any medical-sounding words they could devise to disguise the fact that people were dying like flies of starvation and so on? Or are those really medical terms?

Part of it may be the ligature æ being replaced by e. That said, I find nothing in onelook for memia, but pedatrophia does yield this.

maemia
It might be a transcription error for anaemia.

pedatropia or marasmus: extreme malnutrition and emaciation (especially in children); can result from inadequate intake of food... I'll say!

Thank you for the welcome. Where must I draw you a sheep? Why must I draw you a sheep?

I think the signature is a quote from Winny the Pooh and something like a rethorical question.

The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince) – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. May be rhetorical; some take it literally.

Exactly, Peter. I responded to the question in a PM. Since the Pilot cannot draw very well, he draws a box, and tells the Prince that the sheep is in the box, which satisfies him.

Prince or Winnie, you did a nice job on your sheep but some newcomer might think the drawing of a sheep is an exam test that comes with the WELCOME. Sheepless in Seattle.

Credit where credit's due, Branny - Luke's sheep and my reallycool-Rhubarb are the work of our own refugee from the Titipu Town Band, Tromboniator! Long may his pencil stay sharp.

You bet, Rhuby! Always the critic. I see others have their signature at the standard size, not reduced so as to become distraction to the message. Now it is a test?

If you read well I do give Tromboniator credit. I already complimented him on the drawings before. That should be clear. Yes, I am the critic openly this time because Luke insist to misunderstand my words in case I'd write a PM. Then takes it out to the board to complain about being attacked. This is a long term irritation and now I said it in the open. Please Luke, give your signature the 17P font. Why not?

Tolerance and kindness are not one and the same thing. Critisism and unkindness are not one and the same thing either.
