I've always been fascinated by the name Rose of Sharon (given to a character in John Steinbeck's The grapes of wrath). One last
word about Rose of Sharon - the origin of the expression is from the Bible - Song of Songs (also called the Song of Solomon) chapter 2, verse 1: "I am the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valleys." From this verse, Christians later referred to Jesus (whose real name, by the way, was Yeshua or even Yehoshua...) as "the Rose of Sharon"...

...and if anyone would like a tour of the Plain of Sharon to see the Rose of Sharon, come on over and I'll give you a 'special tour' at a 'special 'price'!
