Think Before you speak

is it True?
is it Helpful?
is it Inspiring?
is it Necessary?
is it Kind?

I got it from someone else, and the anagram is THINK.
That would add an extra "I", but yes, I'd agree
"interesting" should be there.

First time I came across this one, the "I" in THINK was, indeed, "Interesting." And I would agree that it is probably more important to be interesting than inspiring - although if you can be both, so much the better!

Inspiring, it would seem , would take a lot more work.

I've never tried for that reason. I'm afraid of work. I don't
like to smell bad.

My Magnum Opus to date is a 100k word piece on River Pollution in C19 Britain, so I had calloused fingers AND a bad smell.

I know the smell well. The creek in my back yard is
also a rain run off conduit, and if it goes for a long period
without rain, as it did this summer, then, whew! the smell.
