If this week's topic is chosen to mark or celebrate the anniversary of the King James Bible translation, I find the link to the Bible quiz by the Freedom From Religion Foundation to be a poor and even ironic choice - it does nothing but slam the Bible in fifty questions.

Bible bashing is a strenuous sport, especially if done with 15 pound original editions. However, let's play fair.
Exodus 23 is not a list of the ten commandments, Exodus 20:2–17 and Deuteronomy 5:6–21 are. The tribe of Judah, not God, could not overpower the inhabitants of the plains due to their iron chariots.

I won't defend Anu's choice of linking to the Freedom From Religion site because we don't discuss religion or politics on this site.

For and Against...covering both sides, nothing wrong with that!

I found the quiz interesting. I have two ministers in my immediate family (with different views) and things like this make me dig out the book and look up the passages and the context. Obviously people have different interpretations of what is written; hence, the varying denominations.
I think the whole idea is to make folks go back to the source(s) and read and think for themselves, rather than to accept the familiar misquotations/misconceptions.

Religion aside, the questions are loaded to point towards failure.

Which seems to me to be the purpose of the
site.

I agree that is is rather lopsided, but it does point out many of the common misconceptions of our 'knowledge' about a common, and to many, familiar, book. Their quiz on the bill of Rights and Constitution was interesting also.
Both would be helpful when making points to the politicians and others who knock on doors to profess their 'superior' knowledge and attempt to sway you to their point of view.

That is one group of people I don't listen to: bloviating
blatherskites with their tarradiddling codswallop.

Well, some of them are kin, so it is a bit harder to close the door in their face.

I can understand that, but I hosted a very, very large
gathering once before, and a couple politician showed
up. I asked them to leave. Just because it was in a
large public area did not mean they were invited. They
protested "Don't you want me to be re-elected?" whined
one. Frankly no, I replied. Just another politician.

Agreed. I found it offensive and deliberately misleading.

Wow, I had to look that one up! Thanks, Luke.

'When asked how his son came to be so good paradiddling at the amateur musicians' contest, the dad began tarradiddling.' crazy

Gosh, I wish somebody'd write a good rhyme...hint, hint.

You're welcome Jackie. Rather like the word myself, the
whole sentence, actually.

It's available, anyone, go for it. For me, maybe later.
