wow...the enunciation was so Southern when we moved to S.C. that only children from the North could spell. Their only trouble was that the person saying the word could not say the words properly!!! It really was pitiful. It is better now than in the 1960's. Now the children from India and far away places take more interest in pronunciation and far outshine the majority of the children scholastically that were born in the South.
Thank goodness my children can enunciate, however one is still a lousy speller! I could go on and on about education "down here". Nuff said.
