Far as I know, it's just laziness, mostly on the part of the young. I overheard my youngest son (age 28) on the telephone the other night. It seems that the standard opening is, "Zup?" [what's up]. to which the reply is, "nmuch." [nothing much] Then you have the question regarding dinner, "Djeet?" [did you eat?]
