A not-so-nice cartoon in the paper the other day had
Al Gore with his tongue stuck to a post called "Global Warming"....Hope everyone is staying warm. We have
-40 deg wind chills forecast for this night. Surely it will illicit great heaving guffaws from people whose scientific "knowledge" consists of headlines and sound-bites and who don't know the difference between weather and climate.

Once,and only once, when I was a youngster, I got my tongue struck to the steel bumper of my sled. If I hadn't gotten it free, I probably wouldn't care if there were a word for it.

It gives me goosebumps to just think about the
experience. It's in that Christmas movie about the
boy who wants a b-b gun, isn't it? I only watched
it one time, once was enough, but I think I remember
such a scene.
