yes..and it will help co-ordinate dates which might be confusing due to everyones different time zones.

I'm already well into Saturday, but I know you guys are still in Friday mode. That makes the wait even longer for me.

Yes, it is 10:00 AM Saturday morn, and 5:00AM Sunday your
time, so the calendar is a good thing. Glad you figured
out how to post on it.

I know y'all are anxious to keep this game moving, and I don't pretend to speak for bexter, but don't you think it's a bit presumptuous to *schedule the various game *events - given the capricious nature of available computer time and all?!

the original intent of the standard "sennight" was to give the more occasional users the chance to *spot an ongoing game (hi Bran(?)), and also give those who like to dwell on the word (hi faldo) that chance too. once the alleged cutoff has been reached, which duration is really in the hands of the master, we are at his (or her) mercy as to finding the time to post everything, in some semblance of a standard and sensible manner. (this should not be treated by observers, esp. those who haven't tried moderating, as a simple and/or menial task - having done this many times, I firmly believe that standardizing punctuation, capitalization, etc. helps to 'level the playing field'; in spite of all my assurances that "the points don't matter", I think every definition deserves to stand on its *merits and not get knocked down for lesser matters† which can be fixed by the mod. when he (or she) puts it all together.)
/soapbox

I'm sure you just intended this to be a guideline/reminder sort of thing, Candy, but I didn't want casual observers to think we rigidly enforce this seven-day thingy. :-)

†I've seen this in past games where someone will give a blow-by-blow of their reasoning and say something like, well B can't be it because a real dictionary wouldn't use that punctuation (or somesuch).

that wasn't at all my point - as I said, the sennight is the game standard, it's the posting of definitions and results I'm going on about. in more direct terms, give the moderator some slack!?

The entries are in, the waiting is the best part of it; I remember the words dariole and sabrage, stylite and yegg best for their meaning and I love this game. smile Oleh!
