Is décalage (gap, or interval) related?
No. French décalage 'gap, offset' < décaler to move, bring forward' < caler < cale 'wedge' (probably < German Keil 'wedge'. French coller 'to attach, stick' < Latin collum 'neck'.
Ceci n'est pas un seing.
