OP I was speaking with a co-worker the other last year, when I became aware that for her mutton meant 'goat-meat', but for me it meant 'sheep-meat'. She is from India, and sure enough, when I consulted a dictionary, I found that that is a standard meaning of mutton there. Any non-South Asian anglophones have that meaning, too?
